The 10% damage reduction isn't very much. With max stats your damage will still be higher than the base damage of whatever sword you're using. Also, the Blacksmith's Son maintanance perk gives you a 10% damage bonus when you repair a weapon with a kit, thus canceling the damage loss.

Marathon is good. I use it with the perk that makes any boots you've repaired yourself drain 20% less stamina. So I'm 20% faster, but my stamina drain is a wash. level lockpick by opening everything you can until you have the durable lockpick perk and the luck of the drunk perk. combine these two perks with a "padfoot" potion which increases lockpick by 5 and you can easily lockpick open very hard chests at a really low skill level. this nets you amazing loot if you steal from the vendors in rattay and gets you a lot of lockpick experience. there are

OP • 6 yr. ago • Edited 6 yr. ago. i just took the waters of life perk and it makes healing potions alcoholic so keep that in mind. it makes a lazurus potion a one-way ticket to complete drunkeness. don't take this perk it's not worth it. every second your healing potions heal you get additional drunkenness, needless to say this
The best horse at the start is a horse for weight carrying. That would be Trojan, from Neuhof. Buy or steal a 4 bag Noble saddle, and use that to carry 550 weight(use the first pick for a perk for horseriding for the heavy pony duty perk, to carry more).
